...Was an amazing day. Sure--it was snowing, it was cold, and I wasn't home bound for the day, but its all about perspective and how you chose to react to your surroundings or events. On saturday, I got up at 5am with by 9 month old, I played with my kids until 6:30am, then left at 7am for the studio. The studio was closed for special instructor training/certification (AFAA had a primary cert)....so, I called in my biggest loser challengers to meet me at 715am, before the day "officially" began. It was a motivational meeting and weigh in. I brought in a speaker to put things into perspective for them and to really look at the positive. I also had our staff nutritionist come in to give them some reminders and tips. In addition, I stayed to coach some of the challengers. What an amazing morning! And it all happened before 8am. In 3 hours, I had set the tone for the day at my house, the weekend for my biggest loser challengers, and an even longer period of time for those that really were motivated and inspired by our guest speaker. Amazing.
Then, it started to snow.
Later that day, I was back at the studio not as a trainer, instructor, or dance teacher, but as an AFAA examiner. I think sometimes we forget how inspiring each step oin our life can be. it sounds cliche, but it was such a great feeling to be on "the other side"..meaning, I had come this far. All the hard work I had done, the studying, the training, everything....had prepared me for this next step in my life.
Saturday was a great day.
